Have you ever started writing a novel that you came up with from your own dreams or original ideas and you've worked on them and started writing them and made real progress...

... only to find that there's a similar novel already out there, published for the world to see?

Because I just have.

OK, my novel is very different to this one but it still has a similar enough premise that I'm concerned. I was on a website about young adult fiction, read a few lines of the blurb and thought "uh oh."

I'm suddenly very uncertain as to what I should do with my novel...
