Angelina Jolie and Syrian Adoption Rumours

So it is, at present, being rumoured that Angelina and Brad Pitt are planning on adopting a Syrian orphan into their wonderfully large family. The internet, as per usual, is full of mixed opinions on the matter. People are often all too quick to point the finger at the Jolie-Pitt clan and judge them and hurl criticism at the size of the family. I, however, find this to be utterly ridiculous a thing to do. The Jolie-Pitt family, consisting of three adopted children at present and three biological children, are often seen as a large family by contemporary Western standards. We live in the age of "2.5 children" per household being the norm. Quite frankly if Jolie and Pitt have the finances and the energy to continue expanding their family then I wholly support such a decision. As advocates of adoption, the Jolie-Pitt family have inspired so many others to adopt which revolutionises the lives of children in need across the world.

Angelina Jolie herself is quite the activist, often focusing on helping people in crisis and raising awareness of women's issues. So to those hurling criticism for them potentially welcoming another adopted child into the family - is your criticism even worth anything? Such an adoption would only have a positive impact through rescuing a child from truly difficult circumstances and providing them with security and a happy home. I can only hope that more children in need of home, love and families can find such loving parents. Such a selfless act of love, care and generosity is, I feel, worth admiration and not criticism.
