Another Bridget Jones movie in the works?

Having recently written a post about the new Bridget Jones novel, Mad About The Boy, I've just found that the rights to the film adaptation have already apparently been sold. Strangely enough I'm actually watching Bridget Jones: The Edge of reason right now. Rumours are that Hugh Grant and Colin Firth are already signed to reprise their roles but surely the project can't go ahead without Ms Bridget Jones herself, Renee Zellweger. In the past Zellweger has famously put on a lot of weight for the role of Bridget Jones to become utterly dedicated to the role.


Do you think Zellweger will return and the project will go ahead?
Would you go to see a third Bridget Jones film or do you think the time gap between a new one and the last one has been too long for you as an audience member?
