TV Picks: The Tunnel, Episode 1

So last night I sat down and watched "The Tunnel", a new crime thriller. My father said to me "You'll like this. It's pretty messed up" which, in all honesty, got my attention. This is a wonderful French/English remake of the hit Danish/Swedish show The Bridge of a similar storyline. This show is grim, this show is gruesome but I'm sure it'll make one hell of a thriller. The show was half in English, half in French with the appropriate subtitles which made the show automatically possible to air in France and England as a very versatile watch. The show starred Clemence Poesy and Stephen Dillane as conflicting cops from either side of the channel... Or, as us nerds know them, Fleur De La Coeur and Stannis Baratheon. The show starts with a body being found in the channel tunnel at the exact border between England and France. French and English police appear on site to deal with the case but, since it is a French woman, the French authorities decide that it is within their administration and they are left in control of the case but suddenly everything changes once they move the body and soon the case takes a dark and interesting turn.

The first episode was gripping but not desperately so like some first episodes can be.
I'll definitely tune in to see the second episode in this ten part series.
