Recommended reads is that glorious weekly segment where I offer up a few recommendations of things spotted around the internet lately in the hopes that you'll enjoy them too.

Self Care and Letting Go.

Recently I've been going through all of my old make up and beauty items and trying to either get rid of unused/unwanted items or use them up. You shouldn't have make up and beauty items too long as bacteria can build up. That's why I've recently purged a lot of old make up from my collection and now I'm working through stuff. It means that, in the evenings, I'm pampering myself more than usual. I clean my face with nice face soaps, cover myself in moisturiser, scrub my feet with foot and nail cream. The foot and nail cream I've had since my final year of university. Yikes!

If you have way too many beauty items at home I'd urge you to do the same. It minimises clutter and bacteria whilst also giving you the excuse to pamper yourself. You even get into a good routine of self care.

Halloween Makeup Ideas! Part One

As Halloween draws nearer I'm sure that many of you will be looking for costume inspiration or even make-up ideas for a party on the spookiest day of the year. Well today is your lucky day because I've gone and done it for you! 
I've gone and looked for some YouTube tutorials and pictures for Halloween themed make up to help you work out what to dress up as this year. This is the first post with ideas of how to do your make-up for different Halloween costumes.

Do you know what today is?

Today is the first day of October and I'm filled with joy!

I love October and the run up to Halloween.
As a result I'm going to make sure that every song of the day this month has a Halloween theme or is a bit Goth/alternative so as to fit in with the theme. I'll also try to post things along a Halloween theme like horror film movie reviews, Halloween YouTube tutorials etc.

I love autumn. I live right on the edge of a forest and so it is my privilege each year to watch the leaves change and fall. I love Halloween. This year, for Halloween, I shall be at Whitby Goth Weekend getting my spook on with friends in the very town that features in Bram Stoker's infamous novel, "Dracula" and enjoying the festival. Whilst I'm gone expect plenty of spooky fun right here on the blog.
