I am getting married this year on the 23rd of July which means that, as of tomorrow, I am two months away from the Big Day which, in wedding terms, is about 10 minutes....
According to my wedding planning app I'm 70% planned for the big day. A lot of the outstanding tasks relate to things like booking the honeymoon, purchasing decorations, sending a day-of list to the vendors closer to the event, buying wedding shoes.
This week I am currently focusing on the actual content of the ceremony so looking at vows, readings, ceremony wording, the bridal procession.... It's a lot. Also, no one had mentioned any kind of deadline to me, but apparently we were supposed to submit this stuff about 2 weeks ago. Oops.
So over the next day or so I'm sat at home finalising the most important part of our wedding day. Ideally, we would like four readings. Two from my side of the family and two from my fiancee's side of the family. We've found two readings so I am sat in our study just staring at our book collection in search of answers. It's just a shame we own so much horror and sci fi that is free from romance. So I will hopefully get everything picked out today and sent over to the registrar tomorrow.
After that, it's all the little decorative bits we still need to sort out. We also need to book our honeymoon and (hopefully, if all goes to plan) our hen party in Paris!
Now that we're down to the wire, I'll try to post more. Honestly, these past few months have just flown by. I have the rest of the week off and the Bank Holiday Monday next week solely for wedding planning so I'm hoping to get a lot of the important stuff out of the way this week so that in June we can book the honeymoon, focus on getting our ducks in a row and then I'm hoping to just enjoy July as I prepare myself for marriage....

Little Ways To Pamper and Care For Yourself. (Pt 1)

Get a basin. Fill it with warm water, Epsom salts or bath oils and plonk your feet in there. It beats away the winter blues by warming you up and leaves your feet smooth and soft. This is a perfect way to unwind if you don't have the time or energy for a full bath.
Go Make Up Free
Have days where you just let yourself go make up free so that your skin can breathe. Clean it. Steam your skin and open up your pores. Make up can really clog your pores and dirt can build up on your skin from make up and day-to-day life. Have days of cleaning your face and leave it nude after.
Don't Use Old/Out Of Date Make Up
Treat yourself to new make up and bin anything more than one year old. Bacteria builds up in our make up and applying dirty, old, bacteria-riddled make up is not good for your skin at all. You deserve make up that is clean and relatively germ free.
Try to find a shampoo with NO sodium lauryl sulphate
Sodium lauryl sulphate/sulfate is often what makes your shampoo lather up to clean your hair. The problem is that it's really not good for you. It dries out your hair, robbing you of your natural hair oils. Try to minimise the amount of bad chemicals you use on your hair. Maybe even try to cut down on how regularly you wash your hair so that you can let your hair thrive in those natural oils. It should really strengthen your hair over time. Similarly, minimise the amount of products you use on your hair in general and try not to apply heat too often. Maybe on weekends, let your hair dry naturally after a shower. Have days where you don't straighten it. Just let your hair be...
Eat fruit and vegetables
I cannot even stress this enough. No more running out and buying creams, pills and potions. Just eat your 5 a day and you should see and feel the difference within weeks. Even picking a vegetable at random, a red bell pepper for example, has plenty of benefits. They're packed with antioxidants, help you to absorb iron, a great source of vitamin B6 and magnesium, they can help to boost your metabolic rate and help to keep skin smooth and more wrinkle free. Eat fruit and vegetables. Blend them into smoothies and drink them. Make them into face masks and apply them to your skin. Throw fresh lemon juice into as much of your cooking and beverages as possible. Fruit and veggies are the closest thing to beauty potions that we have.

Motivational Monday: Love Yourself
When searching for happiness and motivation there is often one person at the centre of such attention: you. I think it's important not to simply accept the person that we are, but to love that person also. If you're not the kind of person that you can love, why not? What can you change to make yourself more worthy of that love? How can you show yourself love? Is it in little acts of care or ways in which you treat yourself? Is it in the respect you show your body or the routine you follow?
Make sure to make time for yourself to do the things you want to do so you can get what you want. Make time to go on quiet walks or have long bubble baths or write your novel. Make sure to wear what makes you feel comfy or do things that make you feel good. Re-evaluate how you view yourself and remember that you're worthy of love from others and from yourself.
