Song of the Day: The Killing of Georgie by Rod Stewart

This is a song that I hadn't heard until recently when it was sent to me as a recommendation.
I'd always seen Rod Stewart as merely 'that guy my mother has a bit of a thing for' but I have to say I really enjoyed this song. It's a must-listen to any LGBTQ supporters who have not yet heard it. Having been released in 1976 it seems a pretty ambitious move to have written a song about murder and homophobic assault that is openly in favour of the victim. It's poignantly written and performed whilst touching on issues close to my heart.
